Mother’s Tea

A tea party for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers is offered on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Health Department. Drop in for tea, talk with other mothers, and have questions answered by a certified lactation consultant. Nursing infants and children welcome. (Breastfeeding is not a prerequisite for participating in this group)

Mothering Together Virtual Support Group

A virtual Support Group for expectant mothers and mothers of children age 0-5. Online video chat format, children welcome to “attend” with you. Wednesdays 1-2pm. Join at any time, groups are open and free - come as you are!

Great list of doulas, Childbirth Education Classes, chiropractors and physical therapists for Kitsap and Jefferson Counties. “The Peninsula Birth Network (PBN) was conceived as a way to offer families access to their many options for care and support during their pregnancy, birth and journey into parenting.”


Nurse-Family Partnership

“Nurse-Family Partnership is free for women who are pregnant with their first baby. When you enroll you will be connected to a registered nurse who will provide the support, advice, and information you need to have a healthy pregnancy, a healthy baby and be a great mom.” Contact your local health department for more details on enrollment and services.

Jefferson Healthcare Hospital Childbirth Education Classes

Offered both as a series as well as an intensive weekend. Free childbirth classes cover early and active labor, comfort measures, pain management, newborn care, early parenthood, breast feeding and baby safety. Two separate virtual pregnancy and postpartum support group facilitated by Stephanie Hurst, Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in pre and postnatal mental health. Each is held twice monthly. $20-$30 per session, cost is negotiable.
